Young Scientist

$345 | Grades 2-5 | June & July

Hands-on learning can be the most fun for children! This week will be perfect for kids who love STEM and animals. In this science camp, kids will learn to perform simple science experiments to learn about animals and how they are cared for. Along with enjoying animal science-related crafts and activities, campers will also get to interact with some of our adoptable animals! Campers will learn about parasites, basic health checks for animals, and learn about vaccines.

Camp Highlights:

  • Meet & Greet Shelter Animals: Interact with a variety of shelter animals.
  • Parasite Exploration: Discover the world of parasites that affect animals and perform experiments to understand how they spread and how we can protect animals from them.
  • Vaccination Experiment: Learn about the importance of vaccines in keeping animals healthy and perform a fun, interactive experiment to see how vaccines protect animals from disease.
  • STEM-Based Animal Science Crafts: Engage in creative crafts and activities related to animal science, like building a “plaster cast” or other fun animal crafts.
