SNIP Clinic Receptionist

Part-Time | 29 hours/week | Hours fall in the range of 7am – 5 pm

We’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented SNIP Clinic Receptionist to be the first friendly face our clients and their pets see when they walk through the door. This role is essential to keeping our clinic organized, on schedule, and running smoothly.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients and their pets warmly and professionally
  • Provide excellent customer service in person, over the phone, and via email
  • Schedule surgeries for the public, staff, and rescue partners
  • Support communication between clients and the treatment team to help the day stay on track
  • Create and update animal records daily
  • Enter veterinary notes from surgeries and appointments throughout the day
  • Create invoices, process payments, and manage client transactions accurately
  • Assist with various administrative tasks and general office upkeep
  • Perform other duties as needed

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with animals in a shelter, veterinary clinic, or similar setting preferred.
  • State Certification; if applying for CVT.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry 50 pounds.
  • Preferred knowledge of animal behavior, care, and welfare.
  • Necessary to be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Required ability to comprehend technical/medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal and nonverbal) and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry animals and supplies, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods is required.
  • Proficient use of computer, email, the internet and shelter specific software required.
  • Must be able to make decisions for all animals while considering shelter and public safety required.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed indoors.
  • Exposure to animal dander, fur, and odors.
  • Potential exposure to zoonotic diseases.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Expose to potentially unpleasant conditions.
  • Noisy, fast paced environment.
