#57: Holiday Donations
Santa’s elves are pretty busy this time of year, collecting and bringing in donations for HAWS. It’s like Christmas all month long!
We are genuinely excited each time a child, family or group brings in their cache of cash and/or supplies for the animals in our care. Especially fun are the interactions with the kids and youth groups that do service projects for HAWS. We get to hear about the friendly competitions between classes to raise the most, or the service days when they have hand-crafted tie blankets or toys.
Not to be outdone, many businesses – both pet related and general – do teambuilding efforts around donation drives for HAWS. When their groups arrive for a drop-off, and we offer to bring out an animal or two for a group photo, their reactions are sometimes better than the kids! Some businesses invite our team and adoptables to their location to present their gifts, and we are treated like rock stars. Lots of tail wags all around!
The Holidays are a special time for everyone, HAWS paws and claws included. We thank our community for your incredible generosity and giving spirit!
