#44: Birthday Parties
Parents are always looking for neat things to do for and with their kids. In that vein, birthday parties are one of those things that can be an absolute joy…or, let’s face it, a disaster.
HAWS has a neat option for animal-loving kids: Celebrate their birthday at our Waukesha main shelter or our Schallock Center for Animals in Delafield!
Parties are led by a member of our education team. They include basic decorations – but families are always welcome to bring in their own as well! During the party, the kids get a tour and 1:1 time with a variety of HAWS adoptables. Time is set aside during the party to open presents and enjoy snacks. The maximum number of kids per party is 15.
At the main shelter, there are several birthday package options, the Hip Hop Hurray, Meowgical Party or Happy Barkday, with special additions available like stuffed animals and a photo booth.
At the SCA, the birthday kid has their choice between the Galloping Good Time Party or the Equine Extravaganza. These unique parties are hosted either outside at our picnic area or in our indoor arena, depending on the weather. Along with the basics listed above, guests make a paper cowboy hat, see our horses and their living spaces, decorate a horse for the occasion and socialize with our resident goats. There’s even the option of taking home a painting created along with one of the Herd members!
