#31: GLO – we LOVE being included in community events!
For several years, HAWS and our Outreach team have been guests at Bell Ambulance’s annual Greater Lombardo Open at Western Lakes Golf Club in Pewaukee. After a November 2022 transport plane carrying adoptable pets from the south made an emergency landing on the course, the GLO team decided to include HAWS at their event there the following summer. Ever since, they have welcomed our Mobile team for an appearance at the fateful 3rd hole. They have even gone the extra mile, ordering and donating small stuffed dogs for us to sell with 100% of the proceeds coming to HAWS!
Community events like this not only help support HAWS but they also allow us to make connections throughout the area. An appearance at the GLO outing, any of the National Nights Out, a downtown block party or similar festival helps us reach people we might not otherwise. We can do more when a greater number of people are aware of our programs and services – and ultimately find the loving homes we need for our adoptable pets.
