#30: Animal Rescue – even available on holidays!
While it seems most pets know exactly when its dinner time, their timing is usually not great when they decide to go on an unsupervised walkabout! Good thing HAWS’ Animal Rescue Team is on call and available 24/7/365.
All sorts of things can distract our dogs and cats. The pet that is known to stay in the yard “all the time” may give in to an especially enticing call of the wild, or get spooked when the neighborhood fireworks celebration kicks off. Storms also lead to lost pets who maybe were just running for cover and found themselves in a strange area, or wildlife getting stranded in the ensuing chaos of fallen branches and flooding.
On holiday weekends like this, we hope most pet owners will be ready with a safe and secure indoor hiding spot for their pets, along with a fan or other white noise to block out the booms. But, since life happens, be prepared and make sure your pet has proper ID tags and even your phone number written with a laundry marker on their collar. A microchip is a great idea, since it is something they can’t lose! (Call HAWS – we can help with that.)
