#58: Microchipping

If Fido goes far and Fluffy roams, how will you ensure they are safely returned to you? Collars can break, I.D. tags can fall off and get lost.

There’s really only one permanent I.D. solution – and we’ve got them right here at HAWS in the form of a Microchip!

A microchip is a tiny computer chip about the size of a grain of rice that is implanted near your pet’s shoulder blades. A special hypodermic needle is used to safely inject the chip. When your lost pet is brought to a shelter, veterinary clinic or law enforcement agency a special scanner will find the chip.

A registered chip can have all the information needed to contact you – phone numbers, address, etc. – and the agency personnel can easily get in touch to reunite you with your pet.

Sound good? For $25 HAWS will implant a microchip in your pet so you can have peace of mind: if your pet gets lost, YOU can be found.
