We’re all in this together. Teamwork makes the dream work. All for one, one for all!
In summary – we can’t do this alone.
HAWS is thrilled to work hand-in-hand with partner organizations to ensure as many animals and people as possible are helped in our communities.
- Local humane society shelter partners include Elmbrook, Sheboygan County, Jefferson County, Washington County and Watertown Humane, as well as MADACC (Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission). From sharing pets transported from other locales to “swapping” amongst ourselves, giving animals a new perspective can often make the difference in finding a new home.
- HAWS’ Community Cat Coordinator works alongside the Urban Cat Coalition to help community/outdoor cats throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.
- Teaming up with the Wildlife In Need Center (WINC) allows for better outcomes for area wildlife, transporting injured animals to their facility for the specialized care only they can provide.
We rely on medical partners to properly care for and treat those animals at HAWS needing that extra effort. Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center, Waukesha Walk-In Animal Clinic, Advanced Animal Hospital and Dr. Dzika help us with our more complex and unique cases. SVS Imaging does most of the echocardiograms and ultrasounds needed to properly diagnose pets arriving at HAWS with injuries.
Often Law enforcement and citizen volunteers also answer the call of an animal in need, or step in to help transport pets to safety at HAWS.
Together we are a humane community!
