There are many different ways you can support HAWS! Some opportunities involve direct interaction with the animals at the shelter, while others support the shelter from home. Check out the different options, and see which might be a fit for you.

To begin, please review our volunteer criteria and fill out our online Volunteer Application! Upon approval of your application, you will be invited to a hands-on orientation for your chosen assignment. You’ll also learn more about HAWS as an organization and the role of our volunteers! HAWS is always looking for volunteers with special skills or talents, especially those with who are retired from a trades profession!
HAWS Volunteer Requirements:
- Volunteers must be able to make a minimum 6-month commitment with 1-hour shifts on the same day and time each week.
- Age requirements
- Kids must be at least 13.
- 13-15-year-olds must volunteer with a parent or guardian.
- 16-17-year-olds may volunteer independently with parental consent.
- 18 and older are welcome to volunteer in any available capacity.
- Volunteers must have access to email to participate.
