About Humane Education

The Education Department at HAWS is rooted in the vision of its founding members, who believed that building a humane community starts with humane education and strengthening the human-animal bond. Each year, the department reaches over 11,000 future leaders through engaging, character-driven youth programs that teach empathy, kindness, and compassion for all living things. Through camps, school visits, and community outreach, we teach responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, helping to shape a more compassionate and informed future for both people and animals.

Summer Camps

Summer campers enjoy hands-on activities, fun lessons, games, and time with shelter animals while discovering how animals help people and how we can help them in return. Each day is filled with connection, creativity, and plenty of memorable moments.

School Year Camps

Looking for a fun place for your child to spend some of their winter or spring break? Have them come spend a day or more at one of our locations in Waukesha or Delafield.
