#27: Fosters – Medical Cases
Sixty years ago, HAWS began caring for homeless animals. Space, resources, and most of all, funding were limited. (While “love don’t cost a thing,” most everything else certainly does!)
Fortunately, HAWS has been able to make significant strides, especially in the past decade, in assisting animals with increased medical needs. Because of generous support from our community, we don’t have to say “no” when an animal needs help. We are able to continue to invest in their well-being from the moment they arrive until the day they’re adopted—and beyond.
One key to this success is dedicated foster homes! They take on pups with heart problems, cats needing post-op care, and small animals with skin issues. HAWS provides the supplies, the fosters provide the love – and time and nurturing care that allows injured and sick pets the chance to recuperate and find forever homes.
For 60 years, the members of our community have played a most significant role in making sure HAWS is more than a shelter. We count on you, and you can definitely count on us!
