Veterinary Assistant
The Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County, Wisconsin (HAWS) is seeking dedicated full time and part time veterinary assistants to join the Spay/Neuter (SNIP) Clinic team. The Humane Animal Welfare Society is a progressive community animal welfare and education organization.
The right candidate will thrive in a fast paced Veterinary medical environment. They must have a passion for animals and a strong interest in animal welfare. Team work, collaboration and strong communication skills are a must. Prior animal handling skills for a variety of companion animals required, in addition would prefer experience handling strong, large canines and untamed feline. Efficient data entry skills are expected.
The principal purpose of this position is provide surgical support for the veterinarians. Other duties include but not limited to:
- Customer interface
- Preparing animals for surgery and post-operative care
- Maintenance, sanitation and cleanliness of surgical equipment, tools and environment
Experience helpful but willing to train the right person. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work standing on tile floors for extended periods of time required.
Shifts are normally weekdays, 8-10 hours per day, but some weekend hours may be required. Reports to SNIP Clinic Manager and Veterinarians. Please submit resume via email to Nichole Janny, Business Coordinator at [email protected].
