#7: Media Partners
When HAWS needs to get the word out – about a pet in need, an adoption special, a special transport, a fun event – we are lucky to have media partners that are ready to help.
HAWS makes monthly appearances (and more!) on TMJ4’s Morning Blend, giving information about our programs and providing helpful hints and tips for pet owners. We always bring along an adoptable pet – they seem to like the cameras more than us humans and always get cuddles from Molly, Tiffany and company!
Our Friends at Newsradio AM620 welcome us monthly to show off an adoptable pet and talk about what’s going on at the shelter – always a fun outing. Julia and John have been great sports no matter what pet comes along.
Early mornings have seen Brian Kramp of Fox6 and Michael Schlesinger of CBS58 as willing participants in our shenanigans, both at our main Waukesha shelter and out at the Schallock Center. Kudos to them for putting aside any fear (and maybe a little dignity) to help in our promotion.
Reporters that are assigned to and even living in Waukesha have jumped at the opportunity to join us at the Waukesha airport to welcome a transport flight. They often end up “helping” – cuddling a newly-arrived puppy or kitten (Thank you, Bret, Rebecca, Kaylee, Abbey, Jenna, Jane, Brian H., Traci, Emily, Craig, Julee, Nick…it’s very important work you’re doing).
