april 2021 tattle tails. Humane animal Welfare Society of Waukesha county, INC. Introducing HAWS Schallock center for animals. Mike and jane Schelock met a engineering students at the University of Wisconsin. They built a wonderful life together surrounded by their horses, dogs, and the beauty of Star Hill Farm. In 1965 a group of concerned Waukesha County residents, the Schallocks among them, realized there was a need for a county-wide humane society and shelter for homeless and stray animal. In July of that year, the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County was created. Fundraising and planning by this dedicated group to HAWS" first facility, which opened in Waukesha in 1969. Through the years, HAWS mission has grown to encompass not oly animal rescue but also training and education programs, illustrating our founders' dedication to growing a compassionate, human community. We are thrilled to introduce you to our chapter, the HAWS Schallock Center for In this newsletter, we highlight the impact the HAWS Schallock Center for Animals will have on our future. Programs there focus on pet training youth education, and respite and sanctuary shelter pets Our popular Kids' camps operations, and educational encounter even more youth the chance to discover compassion for animals. The Schallock Conte a one-of-a-kind pet training facility, as well as a place for pets to receive care and live away from the traditional shelter setting We look forward to realizing all of the possibilities of the HAWS Schallock Carter for Animals, and we are excited to welcome our community to this amazing new chapter in HAWS history!
