Fund Raising Ideas
- Get married for HAWS: Hard to register because you have all you need for your home?
How about “registering” at HAWS? Encourage your guests to give a donation to HAWS
to honor your special day. Even better: we’ll take care of the cards and acknowledgements for you!
- Hold a supply drive for our shelter: This works great for kid’s birthday parties, anniversary get-togethers, etc.! Just check our Wish List for a list of what we need, or collect monetary donations to honor your special event!
- Special equipment purchases: Contact our office for our latest “big ticket” need.
- Collect blankets and towels for the kennel.
- Have a lemonade stand.
- Hold a car (or dog) wash!

Special Causes Within HAWS
Buy a brick, tile or plaque as a permanent memorial to a beloved person or pet: call 262-542-8851, x112. Sponsor-A-Spay for our SNIP clinic to help us combat pet overpopulation and save lives every day! Put your donation towards a special HAWS’ purchase, such as our Animal Rescue trailer. We’re happy to acknowledge your gift with your business logo on our equipment!
Business Events & Special Event Sponsorships
Underwriting one of our major fundraising events or education programs gives your organization an opportunity to participate in our mission and be associated with the valuable services and education we provide to the Waukesha County community. Each year our Pet Walkathon committee volunteers seek event sponsors, raffle prize donations, “celebrity” guests and more. If you are interested in donating to or helping with this year’s event, call the shelter to leave a message for the event chairperson.
Annually we seek both underwriting sponsors as well as live and silent auction item donors for our annual fall fundraiser, a festive night with great food, live entertainment, live and silent auctions, raffles, casino games and more, attended by more than 500 people. Call the Development office for the most up-to-date sponsorship information.
These individuals, families, businesses and groups are just a few that have held recent fundraisers and/or supply drives for HAWS! We are grateful for their support and thoughtfulness.
Hair & Body Solutions Salon & Spa, led by Dawn Panfil, collected donations from employees/co-workers after seeing the hurricane dogs brought to HAWS on TV!
The Animal Lovers Club held a fundraiser and created treat bags for the animals to take along as they are adopted from HAWS!
In lieu of gifts, Jason & June Sadowski asked guests at their wedding reception to donate dog food for HAWS!
Almon, Inc. of Waukesha, led by VP Aaron Montoure, held a supply and cash donation drive for HAWS.
Modern Woodmen of America, Hartland, stopped by for a tour – and dropped off cash and supplies, too!
HAWS was blessed to receive the goods from Three Pillars Senior Living Communities’ donation drive!

HAWS was the beneficiary of Jodi and Mick Jurena‘s annual pool party this summer!
This year’s golf charity for Dave Simuncak and the Phluff Management Sircuit was HAWS.
Karen, Aimee, Matt, Rebecca and Trena of the Crisis Prevention Institute, Milwaukee dropped off many supplies for HAWS.
A group representing Fredrick’s of Hollymark stopped by for a tour…and brought a $600 donation, too!
Amanda Mathson celebrated her birthday for HAWS, doing an online fundraiser through Facebook. Happy Birthday, Amanda!
Pewaukee Family Chiropractic held a business collection, bringing in lots and lots of pet supplies and monetary donations!
A collection drive held by The Benefit Companies, Brookfield meant a donation of pet food/toys, blankets and office supplies for the pets and people at HAWS.
Karen Korn and a group of friends and neighbors held their spring rummage sale and donated the proceeds to HAWS!
Lots of pet food/treats/supplies, blankets/linens, cleaning supplies and monetary donations were delivered to HAWS by the great people at Henry Schein Inc., the result of their employee fundraiser/drive.
To celebrate National Pet Day, the employees and patients of Aurora Wilkinson Hartland Clinic held a drive, collecting more than 100# of pet food, along with toys, treats and general supplies!
Through their church-wide member donation drive for Lent, St. Mary’s Episcopal of Dousman collected hundreds of dollars worth of supplies for the paws and claws at HAWS!
Modern Woodmen of America – Milwaukee office did a supply and cash drive for HAWS!
Gavin Tierney of FedEx Smart Post led a pet and shelter supply drive, collecting from the employees at the Corporate Drive location!
Corvel Corporation chose HAWS as their monthly charity for February, collecting pet supplies, office supplies and cleaning products for HAWS.
The staff at Hamilton High School in Sussex chose HAWS as their charity for their December Denim Day.
Ewald Chevrolet Buick in Oconomowoc got into the holiday spirit with several “drives” for HAWS, including a Giving Tree, donating $20/car sold in December, and collecting Wish List items from employees, family and friends!
The residents of Mammoth Springs Apartments/Townhomes/Lofts, Sussex, held a holiday pet food drive for HAWS.
The Baking & Pastry Class at WCTC, led by Michelle Gasparek, made and packaged pet treats as part of a class project, and also donated many, many items off HAWS’ Wish List!
The Giving Tree at Carroll University resulted in hundreds of dollars-worth of supply donations for our shelter.
The Woodlands Apartments in Menomonee Falls voted on an organization to support during the holiday season, and HAWS was chosen! They donated money, and a plethora of pet food/treats/supplies, toys, towels/blankets/bedding, and office and cleaning supplies for our shelter.
Jade Cinadr, Myeshia Soto and Rachael Sessner, all students at Carroll University, did a service learning project – asking for donations for HAWS and successfully collecting many pet items and blankets!
Manolito from Lake Country Racquet & Athletic Club, Hartland dropped off a very large box of gently used tennis balls for the dogs at HAWS to enjoy.
Hamacher Resource Center Group, Waukesha held a contest to see which part of the building could donate the most – and HAWS was definitely the winner, receiving food, treats, toys, carriers, crates and office/cleaning supplies!
HAWS received donations from Scribner, Cohen & Company as part of their “wear jeans to support charity” program.
Staff and community filled the counter donation change jar at BP Pantry 41, Pewaukee within 1 week!
The staff and patience of Pewaukee Family Chiropractic held another great fundraiser for HAWS, donating $340 to HAWS.
The participants in the annual Waukesha Zombie Walk again donated to HAWS – spooktacular!
The colleagues at the Associated Bank Service Center, Hales Corners, made a $500 donation to HAWS to support our shelter’s very important work!
Michael Best & Friedrch LLP of Waukesha sponsored a supply and monetary donation drive and welcomed HAWS’ Mobile team.
The members of Gamma Phi Beta, led by Alison Moore, collected blankets and towels for HAWS!
Healthwise Chiropractic held a Community Appreciation Day – donations to their HAWS collection area entered participants into a raffle for a year’s worth of free adjustments…which was QUITE popular!
Mukwonago Home Depot employees, led by Brandi Wright and Cindy Koss, collected pet food/treats, toys, supplies, STAMPS (!) and more!
The felines at HAWS were very excited to receive a donation of samples of Freeze Dried Turkey from the wonderful folks at Stella & Chewy’s!
Horton Insurance Company – Waukesha held a donation drive for HAWS, collecting cash, pet supplies/food/bedding and office supplies, too!
Vicky Kline held her 60th birthday party for HAWS, donating $300!
Waukesha State Bank held a bank-wide collection drive along with a dress casual day in support of HAWS, bringing in dollars, food, treats and toys for the paws and claws at HAWS!
The office of Wells Fargo Dealer Services, Brookfield, did a supply drive for HAWS, donating food, treats, toys, linens and cleaning supplies!
