Fund Raising Ideas
- Get married for HAWS: Hard to register because you have all you need for your home?
How about “registering” at HAWS? Encourage your guests to give a donation to HAWS
to honor your special day. Even better: we’ll take care of the cards and acknowledgements for you!
- Hold a supply drive for our shelter: This works great for kid’s birthday parties, anniversary get-togethers, etc.! Just check our Wish List for a list of what we need, or collect monetary donations to honor your special event!
- Special equipment purchases: Contact our office for our latest “big ticket” need.
- Collect blankets and towels for the kennel.
- Have a lemonade stand.
- Hold a car (or dog) wash!

Special Causes Within HAWS
Buy a brick, tile or plaque as a permanent memorial to a beloved person or pet: call 262-542-8851, x112. Sponsor-A-Spay for our SNIP clinic to help us combat pet overpopulation and save lives every day! Put your donation towards a special HAWS’ purchase, such as our Animal Rescue trailer. We’re happy to acknowledge your gift with your business logo on our equipment!
Business Events & Special Event Sponsorships
Underwriting one of our major fundraising events or education programs gives your organization an opportunity to participate in our mission and be associated with the valuable services and education we provide to the Waukesha County community. Each year our Pet Walkathon committee volunteers seek event sponsors, raffle prize donations, “celebrity” guests and more. If you are interested in donating to or helping with this year’s event, call the shelter to leave a message for the event chairperson.
Annually we seek both underwriting sponsors as well as live and silent auction item donors for our annual fall fundraiser, a festive night with great food, live entertainment, live and silent auctions, raffles, casino games and more, attended by more than 500 people. Call the Development office for the most up-to-date sponsorship information.
These individuals, families, businesses and groups are just a few that have held recent fundraisers and/or supply drives for HAWS! We are grateful for their support and thoughtfulness.
Citizen’s Bank, Mukwonago held a Blue Jeans Day and donation drive for HAWS, collecting numerous boxes of supplies and more than $500.
The Waukesha Steinhafel’s Sales Team held a spring fundraiser and supply drive for HAWS.
Duane Lando, HAWS’ Lobby Greeter extraordinare, had a birthday party to support HAWS!
Farm & Fleet – Waukesha donated leashes for the dogs at the shelter.
Barb Davis held a rummage sale for HAWS.
Waukesha Small Animal Hospital collected donations for HAWS during the holiday season.
The employees of Caliendo-Savio Enterprises voted for HAWS to receive a portion of their Holiday Raffle!
Rosie Millen did an online fundraiser for HAWS, in memory and honor of her beloved dog, Zappa, raising over $2,000 for HAWS!
Pewaukee Veterinary Service held a Christmas Raffle Drive, donating dozens of supplies to HAWS.
Random Acts donated treats, toys and supplies through the International nonprofit funds program.
Lake Country Racquet & Athletic Club donated tennis balls for the pups at HAWS.
The Child & Family Social Workers of Waukesha County Department of Health & Human Services brought in a “little bit of everything” as their Christmas collection for HAWS.
HAWS was the beneficiary of a generous $500 contribution by the Waukesha Olde Car Club.
Neroli Salon & Spa, Brookfield donated all kinds of goodies, wishing a “Merry Christmas to all the fur babies!”
Several groups at Carroll University showed their support of the HAWS cause this holiday. The Carroll Students for Animal Welfare made treats for the HAWS’ pets during their club’s holiday party. Also, donations were collected for HAWS as part of the Carroll U. Holiday Giving Tree program.
Waukesha Memorial Hospital’s GI Department did a collection of pet food, treats, blankets and cleaning supplies for HAWS.

Waukesha Pediatric Association donated $300 to HAWS!
Taco John’s – Waukesha held a dine out for HAWS event in August, bringing in over $500 in just a few hours. PLUS: TJ’s is again celebrating Nachos Navidad for HAWS during the holiday season! From now until 12/25, .25 for every order will be donated to HAWS…and their goal is $5000!!
Brook-Falls Veterinary Hospital, Menomonee Falls, donated proceeds from their Pictures with Santa event.
The residents of The View at Pine Ridge, Oconomowoc, baked dog biscuits for the paws at HAWS!
Stella & Chewy’s LLC donated pet food and treats to HAWS.
The Allied Health Club at Bryant & Stratton College of Wauwatosa collected donations for HAWS through a Taco Sale. The donations honored the memory of Trudy George, sister of one of the faculty members.
Oconomowoc Women’s Club brought in a fantastic collection of pet food/treats, toys, cleaning supplies and cash.
Pet Chef Express donated 11 bags of grain free dog food, valued at more than $300 for the pups at HAWS!
The loyal customers of Canine Campus Pet Resort filled their donation container for HAWS during the month of October!
The customers, staff and management at Pet Supplies Plus in Brookfield generously donated more than $500 in food, toys and cleaning supplies during a drive for HAWS in October.
End of the Leash, Pewaukee chose HAWS to be the benefactor for their August partnership with the Fromm Feeding Friends program.
The August Egg Plate at Blue’s Egg turned into a $732 donation for HAWS!
The NW Milwaukee Ladies of HOG Chapter not only held their June meeting at HAWS, but they also brought along great supply donations for the shelter…and yummy treats for the humans at HAWS.
Nolan Accounting Center/Payrolls “R” Us celebrated their 50th anniversary, with clients and associates choosing to donate to HAWS as their favorite charity!
Circle K from St. Norbert College, DePere made dog toys for HAWS shelter pups during the summer.

RW Baird, Olson’s Ace Hardware, Leticia Guzman Agency, Paul Mitchell School, TJ Maxx Waukesha and Stein Garden & Gifts Waukesha all held supply and donation drives to help HAWS this summer, bringing in countless items needed for the shelter.
Stericycle of Brookfield chose HAWS as their charity for their August “give back to the community” program.
Horizon Hospice and Aurora Lakeshore Medical Clinic, both in Franklin, donated medical and clinic supplies.
Pewaukee Family Chiropractic held their annual fundraising and supply drive for HAWS, bringing in cash, pet food, blankets and towels, cleaning supplies and more!
Pet Supplies Plus of Brookfield delivered a donation of pet food and treats, toys and rawhides!
Tracy Bohrer celebrated her 50th Birthday with a donation party for HAWS, matching the donations of her family and friends and contributing more than $600 to the HAWS cause.
Vrakas/Blum sponsored a Jeans Friday in spring, with HAWS as one of the designated charities receiving almost $700 in employee donations!
JX Enterprises’ “Casual for a Cause” program resulted in an over $1000 donation to HAWS! The Hartland-based company allows its associates from their 16 locations to dress casual on Fridays for a donation, and the JX branch or business collecting the most money gets to choose the charity receiving all the donations. HAWS was definitely the WINNER in March!
Muskego Public Library’s Chain Reaction Crochet Group donated blankets made by their Thursday Craft group!
Dr. Mandy Pearce and Pewaukee Family Chiropractic held a service-for-donation drive for HAWS – helping their patients feel good while doing good!
