Would you like to be a camp sponsor?
We would like to offer scholarships to children of families who are not able to send them. One of the ways we can continue to do this is through camp sponsorship. Scholarships not only provide an opportunity for children who love animals, but also those that may not have had much interaction with them. Click here to find out more. Is your child in need of a partial or full scholarship in order to be able to attend camp? Click here for a scholarship application.

This year HAWS is offering one-day sessions to allow for greater flexibility during the holiday season! Sign your child up for one day, or multiple days. Ages are from 6 to 14 years. Each day will give your camper an opportunity to spend time with many different types of animals. If you sign up for more than one day you can be assured that we’ll do different activities each day, so your child won’t do the same thing each day!
Camp runs from 9:00am to 4:00pm each day. We will provide a mid-morning snack, although you should send you child with a bag lunch. For parents who need to drop their child off earlier, or pick up later we do offer extended care. For a small fee you can drop your child off at 8:00am and/or pick your child up at 5:00pm. During this time one of our counselors will supervise your child.
Registration Fees HAWS members: $41.00 per day with a $2.00 per day discount for multiple day sign-up for the same child Non-Members: $46.00 per day with a $2.00 per day discount for multiple day sign-up for the same child Morning Care from 8:00am – 9:00am: $4.00 per day Afternoon Care from 4:00pm to 5:00pm: $4.00 per day
|Camp Dates Registrations are processed in the order they arrive. Education staff are not here 7 days a week, and so if we fill we may not be able to immediately remove a date from our website. If we fill and you have registered for that date you will be offered a refund or transfer to an available date.
What do they do at camp?
Kids ‘n Critters Day Camp focuses on animals and their care through activities, games, arts and crafts.
Not only will kids be learning about animals and their care, they will have the chance to use what they’ve learned in working with our animals at the shelter! Camp activities include walking dogs, socializing cats, interacting with guinea pigs, a snake, and any other type of animal that HAWS happens to have during the time camp is in session. (Possibilities include hamsters, rats, ferrets, chinchillas, reptiles, & birds.) Additionally campers will get a tour of HAWS, play games and activities designed to teach them about animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.
