HAWS was again invited to a NW Milwaukee HOG Chapter monthly meeting – this time in December to spread a little holiday cheer…and receive hundreds of dollars in supplies. One of the adoptable pets at the meet’n’greet is also now a member of one of the HOG member’s households. Not THAT gets our motor runnin’!

First Weber Lake Country was at it again with their 3rd annual “Take Your Dog to Work Day” in June, raising an astonishing $3,200 for HAWS! The tradition continues and we can’t wait for next year and the great fun on Golf Road. Last year’s 2nd annual TYDTWK raised $2,200 – no small sum!
The employees of Paychex held a drive for HAWS in spring, raising $60 in cash and donating many great supply items for the shelter.
Gracias Casa del Rio! Casa del Rio again held it’s annual MargaritaFest for HAWS…this year helping to raise more than $3500+ for our shelter through cash donations, raffles, an auction, and sales/proceeds from the weekend. It was a PHENOMENAL time – muchas gracias to everyone at Casa del Rio, and to all the volunteers and attendees!
Sarah Cichon participated in the Pfister Hotel’s “Blutender” event…and raised $600 for HAWS!
Hillside Woods Apartment Homes for Seniors held a “Crochet for Charity” during their free crocheting classes in late summer through fall, donating the many blankets they made to HAWS to help make the animals staying at the shelter more comfortable.
Davies Orthodontics’ “Wooden Nickels for HAWS” matching pledge drive in the fall/early winter of 2011 resulted in a $3,000 donation to HAWS! Many thanks to the staff and patients at Davies!
The Milwaukee Northwest Chapter Ladies of HOG made and sold Packer hats at their Packer/Viking game-watching party this season, donating $168 to HAWS from their efforts!

The H.O.G. Chapter of Milwaukee Harley-Davidson hosted HAWS at their meeting in September – to learn more about our shelter and find out ways they can become involved. Their spontaneous “pass-the-hat” donation resulted in an almost $100 cash donation to HAWS! Thank you, riders – HAWS loves HOG!
